The Virgin Mary Monastery, located in the Şebinkarahisar district of Giresun, is an impressive historical structure carved into the rocks. Giresun Archaeological Museum is an important museum that showcases the city's rich history and cultural heritage. Located in an old Orthodox church, the museum contains artifacts from many different periods, from ancient times to the Ottoman period. Collections such as sarcophagi, coins, ceramics and stone reliefs reveal that Giresun has hosted different civilizations throughout history. The oldest artifact dates back to 3000 BC, and there are also artifacts from the Erik Limanı excavations. You can visit the museum every day of the week between 08:00 and 17:00 to discover the deep-rooted history of the Black Sea more closely.
