One of the symbols of Amasya, the Pontic kings' tombs are magnificent structures carved into the steep cliffs of Harşena Mountain. If you include the nine rock tombs inside Amasya Castle, there are 21 rock tombs. However, only some of them have survived intact to the present day. The largest of these tombs is the tomb of King Farnakis, which can be reached by steps. The purpose of these tombs, built during the Pontic Kingdom in the 3rd century BC, is to reflect the magnificence of the kings. These tombs were also used for punishment and prison purposes in some periods. The tombs are reached by crossing the railway from the narrow streets of Hatuniye neighborhood.

Amasya Fortress, located on the summit of Harşena Mountain, has been the defense point of many civilizations throughout history with its dominant position over the city and has been subject to many attacks. The castle was seriously damaged, especially during the wars between Rome and Pontus. Carrying the history of many periods from the Pontus Kingdom to the Ottoman Empire, the Castle stands out with its impressive walls, water wells and secret passages. After the conquest of Amasya by the Seljuk State, it was largely restored in 1075 and continued to be used until the 18th century, when it lost its military importance. Today, the castle continues to fascinate its visitors with its magnificent view of Amasya.

The Yalıboyu Houses, lined up on the banks of the Yeşilırmak River in Amasya, are examples of traditional Turkish houses and bear traces of the Ottoman period with their architectural texture. These traditional wooden and whitewashed houses offer a unique atmosphere for those who want to feel the historical texture. For those who want to experience this magnificent atmosphere, gondola tours are made on the Yeşil River passing by the houses.
