Early in the morning, you will be transferred from your hotel in Istanbul to the airport. Your guide will greet you upon arrival in Izmir and the tour will begin towards Smyrna, the first of the seven churches of the Revelation. Here, we will visit the ruins of the Agora and see the St. Polycarp Church from the outside.
We will have lunch at a restaurant serving traditional delicacies in the center of Izmir. Then, we will reach Pergamon (Bergama) with a 2-hour drive. This place, which John called “the throne of Satan”, was once a city where oppression against Christians was intense. We will explore the traces of the ancient age by visiting the Acropolis, the Temple of Athena, the Roman Theater and the Asklepion.
We will have dinner and stay at our stone-architectured hotel in Bergama.
