Day 1

Day 1 – Ephesus Ancient City, St. Jean Basilica, House of the Virgin Mary, Laodicea

You will be picked up from your hotel in Istanbul between 04:00 and 05:00 in the morning by our private vehicle. After the transfer to Istanbul Airport, we take a short flight to Izmir. We take our first step towards the holy lands with our licensed and experienced guide who greets you at the airport.

First stop: Ephesus Ancient City. In this holy city, which hosts the first church mentioned in the book of Revelation, you will discover many structures from the ruins of the Temple of Artemis to the Library of Celsus, from its theater to its marble streets.

At the next stop, we will go to the Basilica of St. Jean. In this basilica, where the tomb of St. John, the author of the Bible and the author of the book of Revelation, is located, our guide explains the importance of this place in the history of Christianity.

At noon, we rest with a lunch consisting of local flavors at a carpet shop in Selçuk. Then, we get information about the production and importance of hand-woven carpets in Türkiye, and our guests who wish can buy any of the thousands of carpets inside (there are also carpets of paintings such as the Last Supper).

After dinner, we visit the House of the Virgin Mary, where it is believed that the Virgin Mary spent her last years and which was blessed by the Vatican. After visiting this sacred place, we reach the ancient city of Laodicea with a land journey of approximately 3 hours. The Church of Laodicea was the center of the community criticized in the Revelation for being “neither hot nor cold.”

At the end of the day, we settle into our hotel in Pamukkale and have dinner at the hotel.
